Dr. Edgar Yuen is an Associate Professor in Media and Communication Studies. He holds a PhD from Peking University, P.R. China and a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) from Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Yuen has vast industry experience in writing and editing news for Hong Kong newspapers. He continues to write columns for Hong Kong newspapers and magazines and actively contributes to the College’s corporate communications.

Research areas: news writing and reporting, commentary writing, and media ethics.

Prof. Guo received his BA in English and English literature from Beijing Foreign Studies University. He worked as a journalist at China Daily for seven years before obtaining his Master's and PhD degree in political communication at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research interest focuses on news production and its social impact. Prof. Guo has been teaching in HKBU since 1996.
