April 27, 2019: Alumni Gathering 2019

In the context of UIC Homecoming Day 2019 on 27th of April, the whole Government and International Relations (GIR) community also  held an Alumni Gathering where the exsiting Government and International Relations students and alumni got together to exchange ideas and experience.

This event saw the presence of the whole GIR faculty, with Programme Director Dr. Edoardo Monaco giving an opening speech. Three alumni, Francis, Clytie and Sunny also spoke at the event and shared their own unique experiences in studying and working in different fields, as a result of their multi-disciplinary study within the Government and International Relations Programme. Their working experience in various sectors (e.g. Prudential in Hong Kong and Evergrand in  Guangzhou) was particularly useful to Year 4 students who shall enter the job market in the near future.  After their speech, former Government and International Relations students who pursue further study in prestigious universities such as Georgetown University and London School of Economics also spoke to the audience via video.

The speeches ended with group pictures, and networking continued over refreshments outside of the meeting hall.
